This forum is for the discussion of anything to do with Prostate Cancer.

Thanks for your kind words, Alistair.

As far as HIFU is concerned, I believe that the therapy definitely has promise. There is very little published material (other than that provided by the manufacturers of the equipment) that gives a clear view of how effective the therapy is. What is abundantly clear is that for this therapy you need someone who really knows what they are doing and can demonstrate that. The damage that can be done by an inexperienced operator is significant.

I’m not sure how many experienced HIFU operators there are in Britain and if I were to consider this option, I’d be looking to go across the channel to an institution where they have been doing it for years and have an established track record that they would share with you. I assume you have read the HIFU stories on the Yana site?
