I have endured a couple of weeks of pretty intense urinary symptoms and am taking my second round of antibiotics - Cipro followed by Levaquin. The problem started a couple months ago but only recently became unbearable. I had noticed some blood and small white bodies in my urine but tonight it appears that a seed came out. Does anyone have any similar experiences and if so did this seem to be the cause of pain and spasms? I was seeded Mar. 23, 2007 and figured that the seeds would have been firmly encapsulated in the body by now. - p (Alaska, USA)
I wish I was able to help you here, but I have no personal experience of brachytherapy. Hopefully one of our guys has had that treatment, suffered something similar to you, and will see your post and advise.
It definitely doesn't sound 'usual' to me, and I hope you have good medics treating you over there in Alaska. Hopefully it can be easily explained.
I have tentatively scheduled a transurethral resection and possible bladder biopsy for August 19. This is to treat/find out more about the symptoms I have had all summer. There is tissue and possibly more seeds to be removed from the urethra and the Uro wants to check my bladder.
I have three things still going on that are causing me a great deal of grief: Overactive bladder, passing seeds and sloughing, and a high white cell count.
If anyone out there can shed more light on this subject or can offer any questions I should ask at my Pre-op Aug 13, please email me.
