Re: Re: Experience with Mayo Clinic Minn or Cleveland Clinic?

Van,
I have experience with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Failed Brachytherapy at Cleveland Clinic and a Salvage Radical Prostatectomy at Mayo Clinic. I found Mayo Clinic to be amazing. VERY efficient and professional. Doctor would order tests and off I went to get a test immediately, he'd get the results quickly. When he ordered Lupron off I went immediately for the injection. As opposed to making another appointment for a blood test, etc. maybe off site or, and waiting a day for results then coming in again another day, etc. Immediately set me up with a nurse to teach me about foley, care, etc
I'm post surgery now about 6 months. PSA is undetectable, started on Lupron right after surgery. Lupron, as it effects me is beyond horrible - that's another thread.

I thought Cleveland Clinic was impressive (I live 5 minutes away) until I visited Mayo Clinic, in my opinion Mayo Clinic is the big leagues, from the surgeons, facilities, to the friendly and caring employees. I'm going there again in a couple of weeks for an AUS. I feel in my gut that's the place for me even if it means a trip to Minnesota (a state I happen to love).

Good luck, hope this helped a little.

Dean
