If you had seminal vessel invasion then you need to check out the lymph nodes. A recent study in Holland and Germany indicated when there is seminal vessel invasion there is a 50% chance of node involvement even when the dissected nodes are clear.
The reason is that there are two lymphatic paths. The path that is sampled is not the path of the seminal vessel.
A combidex MRI is the only way you can really be sure. With a G8 and positive margins I would be seeing a prostate oncologist for a 2nd opinion. If you have systemic PC then a local treatment such as radiation won't cure you. You have to rule out any systemic spread before you decide on a salvage option.
