penis fibrosis

644Hi,I had open surgery in July 06 at age 55,minimal side effects,PSA has stayed at <0.03,around 6 month ago i developed fibrosis in the proximal half of my penis,Dr dx this as Peyronies disease and doesn,t believe surgery played any part in developing Peyronies,i am not totally sure myself.
I would be interested to know if any men out there have developed fibrosis since their surgery,i responded well to ED medication so it wasn,t as if i didn,t get an erection (many times partial)for many months.I was flaccid for 5 weeks as my catheter refused to come out at 3 weeks so i was stuck with it for another 2 weeks with the balloon deflated when my body decided to expell it.

Re: penis fibrosis

Keiran,

If you us the SEARCH ENGINE on the Site and enter Peyronies, you will find the short piece I wrote - PEYRONIES - as well as several links to the stories of men who have had problems with this side effect.

All the best

Re: penis fibrosis

Kerian although I was treated by EBRT, I had Peyronies disease develop several weeks after I underwent a TURP. My erect penis looked much like a banana with a 2cm area of hard fibrotic tissue on the right hand side penis base. I should add that I had an indwelling catheter for over 2 months prior to the TURP. I did not have any treatment for the Peyronies and now close to 12 months following the TURP, the fibrotic tissue is gone and my erect penis is now straight again.
