What About Vitamin C?
In another large, long-term trial, called the Physicians' Health Study II, researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School studied whether taking vitamin E or vitamin C could reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Nearly 15,000 male doctors participated in the trial. After an average of 8 years, neither vitamin E nor vitamin C seemed to lower the risk of prostate cancer. However, taking the supplements also did not appear to cause any harm.

Diet and supplements are things that you can do, but what's left in the way of supplements to take specifically to try to avoid (or at least slow down) PCa?

All I can think of is lycopene, and I think it's foolish not to take D for general immune health, especially if you live up North. Hasn't everything else pretty much been discredited per this and the selenium discussion below?

It was nice to feel good about taking that stuff; worst case - it was like driving around with a St. Christopher statue on the dash.

Food wise, besides eating 'heart friendly', it seems like much of it evolves around small seeds: flax seed, pomegranate (you only eat the seeds), red wine (unlike white, the crushed seeds soak in the juice until it's pressed), tomato seeds in tomato products, etc.; or omega 3 fatty acids: sardines - the new health food. Who'd have thought it?
