ALK PHOS

I am trying to figure out my bone mets. My 1st bone scan was negative just normal degerative disease my ALK PHOS was in the normal range. I had a 2nd scan after I started ADT and there were some spots on the scan but ALK PHOS is normal. A 3rd CT and scan lymph nodes shrunk almost 50% and no new spots on the scan some were brighter some dimmer ALK PHOS still normal. All this has been going on while my PSA has dropped from a high of 522 to 17 on Jan 5 09. Does the ALK PHOS test mean anything and should I be questioning my doc about Zometa?

Re: ALK PHOS

Tim: It was explained to me that you either have to have a signifucant amount of mets or they have to have been around for an extensive period of time to get you Alk. Phos elevated but I'm sure some experienced guys will be along soon to give you more info.

Its interesting that your first scan was clean and then after you started ADT your scans came back with mets.

Good luck
David
