Finished Proton Treatment at UFPTI

My husband Tony (57 years old) completed Proton Therapy in Jacksonville FL 16 Dec 08 and is doing very well. He started his treatment on 20 Oct 08. His PSA at start time was 15.0, Gleason 6. He had 36 treatments. PSA after the treatments was 11.5.
Tony will have a PSA test every 3 months and the PSA will hopefully will go lower and lower each time.
The only side effects that he experienced was some pain in his hips, the site of the Protons, some urinary discomfort and some fatigue other than that you would never know he had been through treatment for Prostate Cancer.
The overall experience was a good one for him and we are satisfied that we choose this form of treatment.

Hi Mary ... I'm 45 miles south of you in St Augustine Fl and underwent seed implant and external radiation last year.

Glad Tony's procedure went well and hope you continue receiving good news.
