Tantric Sex

I copied this from another forum. It is a post from a lady about a couple that has used Tantric Sex as a way around the fact the man has lost his penis.
Here is her post:

How can a man without a penis have a sex life that other men envy?
________________________________________
Just answering some email from a loving partner of an patient looking for ideas about sex... and realized that I hadn't posted this story here for several years. Thought I would do it today!

This was a true story told by a sex therapist and doctor from the UCSF Medical School who came to our IC support group meeting back in 1996. He told the story of a couple who had a sex life that he, frankly, envied. They were loving, compassionate, and completely sexually fulfilled. Yet, there was a shocking twist. The man had been in Vietnam and had suffered a horrific groin/shrapnel injury that had destroyed his penis. It was amputated and he returned home with an injury that most men fear.

So, how can a man without a penis have an amazing sex life that other men who were physically intact envied?? It was all about experimentation. The couple loved each dearly and decided to explore their sexuality in new ways, eventually finding TANTRIC SEX.
One translation of the word Tantra is "tools for expansion." Tantra is over 1500 years old, and like yoga it originated in India. It is a set of teachings and practices that are specifically designed to help us feel more, to increase our awareness of our own energy and the energy around us. The path that Tantra uses to these ends is the exploration of sexual energy. The goal of Tantric sex is to allow us to experience more depth and breadth in our sexuality. The goal is not necessarily orgasm, but rather enriching the whole sexual experience.

Has anyone experimented with Tantric Sex or know of anyone who has? I find it interesting as a way of possibly coping with erectile disfunction.

Re: Tantric Sex

This is not quite on-topic but I thought I'd mention it. I've had ED for nearly two years and I'm still at castrate levels due to residual ADT. I've found that while I don't have the usual physical desire, there is another form of desire that I experience. I talked about this with a close female friend and I could see a light go on over her head. She repeated the common thought that men and women have different ideas about sex: men are mostly concerned with the physical aspects while women concentrate on the emotional. I have a type of desire that has nothing to do with the physical yet it is strong. It's hard to put it into words but she understood what I was getting at right away. I have the desire to be with a partner without the need to have an orgasm. As a result, I have a renewed concern for my appearance and desirability even though I cannot perform. Anyone else have these feelings?

Re: Re: Tantric Sex

Hi Paul,
Yes, my wife & I snuggle a lot before we sleep and after we wake up. It does come up but usually from a dream and it still is a bit painful. Last Lupron Depot shot was April 2, 2008, the injection sites still ach from over six months ago.

I must have been lucky. My shots only hurt for 2 or 3 days. Sorry that you still hurt after all these months, Joe.
