More Facts - PC & Eating Legumes

The Multiethnic Cohort Study (Cancer Research Center of Hawaii & USC of Southern California) published in their bulletin (Vol 8, Issue 1, Fall 2008) and also published in the International Journal of Cancer (Aug 2008)that linked the consumption of legumes to a reduced risk of prostate cancer. Of 82,483 men (5 ethnic groups)during 8 years of the study, 4,404 PC's were diagnosed. They found that men who ate more than 73 grams (2.6 oz)of legumes/day on average had an 11% lower risk of being diagnosed ... at any stage, ... 26% lower risk of developing more advanced forms of the disease ... compared to men who consumed less than 15 gms/day.
I did leave out some words, so this is not an exact quote.
