voiding after surgery

I had my prostrate removed on June 18th and have had trouble peeing on my own. I've made numerous trips to the ER and had the catheter back in more times than I can count. I had laser surgery in August to remove some scar tissue and that worked for about a week. I also was self cathering myself to keep myself open. That also worked for about 7 days. Just two days ago, Sept. 30th, I had my second laser surgery to remove scar tissue. I have found lots of info on peeing too much, but none on not being able to pee. I think my doctor is also discouraged by my problems.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Also has anyone heard of taking Flomax to make sure you empty your bladder.

Thanks,
John Kuzyck
