Future of ADT Implants - Attn: Tony and Chuck

The viadur implant has been discontinued due to high production costs: http://www.viadur.com/pdfs/Final_Press_Release_Viadur_122007.pdf
As far as Vantas is concerned, it is currently the only one year implant available in the US.
The Viadur ran about $6300 for me. 4 - 22.5mg. LD's ran $6800. I'm not sure how much one would be billed for the Vantas although I did find out that the wholesale price runs around $3600.
I also heard but cannot substantiate right now that Leuprolide Acetate will become generically available in the near future.
I personally preferred the implant to the depot due to the once a year administration. Differences in side effects were indistinguishable between the two. Maybe other mentors will be able to shed some light on this subject.
