avodart

anyone on avodart as a third line hormone treatment,

Re: avodart

I was initially on Zoladex and Casodex for 3 months and then the Casodex was replaced by Avadart for 6 weeks. I needed to reduce the prostate size from 72cc to less than 40cc in order to have an Ablatherm HIFU treatment. The Zoladex and Casodex reduce the prostate size to 44.5 but the last month had only reduce the size by 1cc. The doctor switched me to Avadart and Zoladex for 6 weeks and that only reduce the prostate size by 1cc. In this whole process the PSA was reduced to .2. I am no longer on any hormone therapy as I have had my HIFU treatment at the end of March 2008.
