Re: MRI after HIFU

I have not had an MRI after HIFU, but i did have HIFU in Dec of o7 and am having a biopsy in July.

Who is your doctor, and when did you have the HIFU and what is your present psa score?

I'm interested because I am looking to find some better metod than biopsy, and wonder if an mri is better.

Re: Re: MRI after HIFU

My doctor is Dr. Drachenbery in Winnipeg. I have not had a PSA as I just had my treatment on March 29, 2008. Before hormome therapy my PSA was 9.9 in Sept 2007 but the hormome therapy reduced the PSA to 0.2. Dr.Dachenberg wants me to have a biopsy in a year from the procedural date due to the cancer being in the apex of the prostate. I am leaning towards MRIS/MRI but at the moment as what I have read indicates there is considerably more accuracy to this test but I do not know of any place in Canada that does it.
