Upcoming Surgery

Hey All,
Just wanted to say thank you to those who've written and offered support. I have my surgery on the 23rd (2 days from now) of April. I am my doctor's first robotic patient. He has his proctor with him who has performed more than 300 robotics and is the local proctor.
We've spent the last few days at home taking care of business, med appts, grass cutting, car oil changes, etc. My daughter modified a pair of scrub pants for me to wear home with a side opening for obvious reasons. I followed the recommended list of supplies my wife Leslie pulled off the internet (or maybe this site) of things people found helpful. Leslie and I walked around the hospital where i'm having this done. Found the cafeteria, waiting room, and admitting. All the important things.

I asked her to take pictures (where appropriate) to offer up to anyone interested. I haven't had a picture of my belly taken since my days in the Navy in Italy, but that's another story.

I'll write when i'm home this week.

Mike

Re: Upcoming Surgery

I will be praying for you!!!! My father had surgery 7 yrs. ago and I check back on this forum often it really helped me be an active advocate for my dad. Good Luck and take care!!

Re: Re: Upcoming Surgery

Thank you all for your support. I guess i did well, i'm home and the catheter is working good. I have very little pain, the majority coming from a tape burn and, as some of you know, the sliding catheter. Triple antibiotic ointment helps but.....

I was my doctor's first robotic surgery patient. He seemed very comfortable and i was thrilled to have him do it. HE HAD HELP, as you might know.
I'd recommend him to anyone in the Lafayette, Louisiana, USA area.

I'll keep you posted.
