This forum is for the discussion of anything to do with Prostate Cancer. There are only four rules:
No fundraisers, no commercials (although it is OK to recommend choices of treatment or medical people based on your personal research; invitations to participate in third-party surveys are also acceptable, provided there is no compensation to YANA);
No harvesting e-mail addresses for Spam;
No insults or flaming - be polite and respectful at all times and understand that there may be a variety of points of view, all of which may have some validity;
Opinions are OK, but please provide as much factual evidence as possible for any assertions that you are making
Failure to abide by these simple rules will result in the immediate and permanent suspension of your posting privileges.

Me again.
Leslie and I went to the Dr Tuesday, Mar 11, to discuss options regarding the 6 positive biopsies. He discussed a lot of options. Leslie is the new expert in my life when it comes to prostate cancer and treatment, in part thanks to Terry and folks like y'all on here. One the drive there we had decided removal and if possible, using the robotic da Vinci thingy with the remote monitors and all. (my mother asked for a video of the surgery if it wasn't too much trouble for me). My Doc has a good friend who is the southeast US regional trainer for the robot. Together they will be doing this on me in Lafayette, La. It will help him get certified on it also. Don't know when yet, hoping it's soon.
I have been sharing the "Get Tested" word at work where nearly everyone there is 40 and up. One guy i work with was in a meeting discussing "work stuff" when my situation came up. He came back concerned. Apparently of the 6 men sitting at the table, he was the only one with a prostate. He never knew it was this wide spread. Men don't talk about this stuff, not enough anyway. It's sad too. There's so much support amongst each other for all kinds of issues. This should be one out in the open there. Maybe that's my calling.
I did want to correct some numbers from my first post. Original PSA was 5.6, retest was 7.9, free PSA was 6.59. Getting this news over the phone probably had me mess these up. I had to read my chart to confirm them.
I'll keep you posted.
I thinks this idea works well. For those of us who log in daily it's an instant link to the latest news of our friends here.
You asked for suggestions about other changes to the website, and quite honestly, I've been through it all again, from the Welocme Page, to The Forums and right through every page.........and I haven't come up with any suggestion for improving it!
The old saying, I guess..If it ain't broke, don't fix it. : )
