ULTRASOUND COMPLETE

Had my color ultrasound done by Dr. Bahn. He found 2 darkened areas which he had to biopsy. He took 5 samples. I'll know the results on Monday. Why didn't my hometown urologist refer me to him for this procedure when it was determined that my PSA rose? NAH, instead he did another 15 sample biopsy.
"patient outcome is not as important as doctors income" . . .

Re: ULTRASOUND COMPLETE

Hi David,

You have made a great point there. Why the heck is it that urologist take charge of PCa treatment plans in far too many cases....in UK, where I am, and in the USA too. I once asked this question and was overwhelmed by responses from guys who had the same complaint.

I'm quite sure I wouldn't be here today if I hadn't insisted on seeing an oncologist the moment I realised the stupidy of the treatment plan drawn up by my urologist.

He had more or less "written me off", condemning me to hormone injections for the rest of my days.

It is all very wrong. An oncologist with specialised knowledge of PCa MUST be involved.

Wishing you great success,

George
