I appreciate this site very much. But I have one more question. My Doc at University of Chicago is most certain he is going to leave the lymph nodes for he states there is a less than 1% chance for involvement. He says he will take them if I wish but there could be complications from drainage and such. I am having robotic. What is the general consenus with this. Seminal vessels to go for sure but not the lymph nodes.

I've just responded to your previous post so i suggest you read what Donna has to say before going any further with your arrangements.
The lymph nodes are a very important part of the immune system. Why remove a healthy organ - and why remove the seminal vesicules? I just don't get it and really think you should take a deep breath and more time to study your options.
Good luck if you go for the surgery, but think hard about that.
In response to Terry, the seminal vesicles are useless without the prostate so, if there's the slightest possiblity they might be involved (and there's always a chance however small), they should be removed. Ditto the lymph nodes - there's no way to tell if they're healthy without pathology. I had open RP and had eleven lymph nodes removed. There was a drainage tube which came out before I went home from hospital (around 40 hours after surgery finished). There was a lot more tubing in that drainage than I expected, and it felt weird coming out, but it was over so fast there was no time for it to hurt. I also had some discomfort in the drainage area for a few weeks but not a big deal. To me, it seems like the right way to go.
