HIFU contacts

I get no response from many of the hospitals regarding HIFU.I would like to know the approximate cost of this procedure in various countries.

I have directly emailed some of the mentors on this site who have had HIFU.The response from them was gratifying. They all have answered my email and supplied email addresses for their doctors and hospitals .

I have had had little luck . I sent inquiries to more than a dozen different hospitals and doctors. To date only 1 reply. Dr D le Hont in Belgium did answer.Of course the USA and Canadian HIFU's have contacted me. They want $25,000.

I am an American and this procedure is not available here.I travel world wide with my business and can easily schedule something in another country.
I also have a high appreciation for the medical facilities in many countries.

I would appreciate any feedback on this. Why no responses ? How did you get their attention if you have had this procedure ? Can anyone supply some contact addresses. Thanks
Terry

Re: HIFU contacts

Have you tried http://www.hifu.ca/ ? After enrolling they will call you, send you discs on treatment, and enroll you in their newsletter. I finally chose EBRT, Brachy, and ADT but it seemed like these people were prompt and thorough in their replies. Although I'm not recommending one treatment over another, mine was fairly adaptable to my work schedule - 25 afternoons lying on the table (EBRT), One week off after brachy and probably a total of 12 other sick days going to the docs for treatment, etc. Good luck with what ever you choose. - Pat (Alaska, USA)

Re: HIFU contacts

BTW, my treatment is running about 90K to date and more lupron and Dr. appointments are expected. If the treatment cost was 25K than that might be one of the better treatment costs out there. (My insurance has paid over 90% of the total.
