I have a 6 month old long hair dapple female. We can go by her food, take away her toys, take away a peanut butter filled hoof that she loves, but when it comes to the pig snout we got her or the latest, a pork jerky filled hoof, she goes beserk. She growls and snaps when you even go near her. Is this because of her hunting instinct or could it be something else? Has anyone else ever encountered anything like this?

I have a 4 year old that was a rescue and he is the same way. He only causes problems when it comes to his rawhides or his pig ears...nothing else is a problem. He isn't as aggressive as yours sounds but still acts differently than with other toys...sorry not much help but at least you aren't in the boat alone!
