My 2 1/2 yr. old Mini has recently started exhibiting bad behavior. I moved a few months ago and he seemed to do fine but I am now going out maybe once a week in the evening for a few hours and he seems to get upset- he shows this by misbehaving. He has chewed up a pair of panties, begun barking more, started to urinate in his cage- even after he has already gone outside. I am paying plenty of attention to him and giving him the same amount of exercise. In other's experience, will this pass or should I do something to help ease his issues? Thanks for any suggestions!
Sounds like your dog is bored!! Are you tiring him out before you leave? Possibly a good 45 min brisk walk would help. Or he could have the start of separation anxiety. I would start training him before the problem gets worse. Here’s a link for SA http://www.wagntrain.com/SeparationAnx.htm
I haven’t moved with my dogs so have not experienced your problem. This board is very slow not many people visit, possibly you may find help on The Hot Dog Blog. So I recommend you join and ask your questions there. Good luck!
