Anyone have any suggestions on cleaning my mini doxie's ears? I have used dry cotton balls but it doesn't seemto be getting all of the dirtiness out. His ears don't smell and I know not to put a q-tip in there. I don't want to use any cleaning products in there without some feedback from people who have used them or have experience cleaning their dogs ears. Thanks!

Hi Kasandra,

I check and clean (if needed) my dogs ears every week. I use a product called Vet Solutions purchased from my vet. I use the method in the link below and your correct; do not put Q-tips down inside the ears although you can use them in and around the “nooks and crannies” as they call them. In step #3 after inserting the damp cotton ball, I gently rub the ear (with the flap down) until I hear a swishing sound. Be sure not over do on the liquid. Use a dry cotton ball after you're done. Next time your dog needs a check up at the vets have him/her show you the correct way of cleaning.
