Squad for Second Match Away to Cuffley - Sunday 13th Oct.

We are playing Away to Cuffley (at Newgate Street Village Rec) again this coming Sunday, this time in the League Challenge Cup as opposed to the Senior.

Danny Hagan is having a fitness test on his broken toe at training this Wednesday and is hopeful of making himself available for this match, while Ben Keating is another player who was there yesterday but not in the squad. Trevor will therefore have almost a full-strength squad available to choose from apart from Tom Simmons, who is still away on a work course.

However, an area of major concern to the Management Committee at the moment is the current non-payment of subs by almost half the current squad. Quite frankly there are a lot of players who are just taking the p!ss by paying nothing whatsoever for weeks, and that includes pretty much all of our new players as well. It is totally blatant where they are just ignoring Trevor when he gets the subs tin out and they disappear off home as soon as he does so. That simply cannot continue, otherwise the club will fold up.
Only 8 players have paid their Annual Subs so far, and that is not good enough. Annual Subs were supposed to have been paid before our first League match.

I will report back here once the Management Committee have made a decision on who we are going to allow to play this coming Sunday.

Re: Squad for Second Match Away to Cuffley - Sunday 13th Oct.

We had 16 there at training last night (albeit including five of Riaz's mates), but Danny Hagan attended and came through his fitness test, so he is therefore in the squad for this Sunday to replace Martin Cruickshank, who is now out with a knee injury. Tom Simmons is also still unavailable while Junior Brown has told Trevor he has no money at the moment, so he is therefore replaced in the squad by Ben Keating, who was the '17th man' last Sunday.
Like Ben, if players cannot attend training, then the only way they are going to get in the squad is to come along to watch matches and bring their boots in case of last-minute drop-outs, while also paying their subs.

The squad of 16 is therefore as follows:
Garry Cover (GK)
Terry Moore
Alan Barnard
Lexton Harrison
George Stahlmann
Ali 'TJ' Sowe
Danny Hagan
Daniel Cascoe
Ryan Foreman
Krishan Singh
Francis Karemo
Ben Keating
Leon McKenzie-McKay
Jack Bangs
Daniel Daley
John Scouller

As for payment of subs, there are one or two in the above squad who need to bring plenty of money with them on Sunday and pay it to Trevor when they arrive at the ground. We know that we can beat Cuffley (going by last Sunday's performance) if Trevor is able to pick what he considers to be his strongest starting line-up, but he won't be able to do that if certain players...and they know who they are...blatantly turn up again without any money on them. Those players will be letting their team-mates down big time if we go out of this Cup as well through having to name some of our better players as a substitute. We are giving players who were unable to attend training last night a chance to pay their subs this Sunday instead, so please have some respect for the Management Committee allowing that to happen.

Re: Squad for Second Match Away to Cuffley - Sunday 13th Oct.

Just a couple of late changes to the squad this morning.
Ben has now left the club...more on that later...while TJ is having to babysit.
Martin Cruickshank now says his knee feels ok, so he has replaced TJ in the squad and Trevor has called up Junior Brown to replace Ben.

On Teamer, Jack Tompkins will have received an automated message telling him he is now in the squad, but that was because he was first on the standby list on there and I didn't know Trevor had put Junior in ahead of him.
If Jack comes along this morning with his boots, he might get a game anyway as I dare say there will be some players dropping out with a 'babysitting' excuse when they open their curtains and see what the weather is like !

The game is definitely ON by the way !
