We only have a Thursday night 7-a-side match this week due to Monday being a Bank Holiday. Our fixture is against Locomotive Southgate. (8.30.p.m. Kick-Off).

Subject to availability, I would like the squad to be mainly our regular players who were unable to play in our 11-a-side Pre-Season Friendly against Broxbourne Athletic on Sunday just gone, namely:
Simon Jackson (GK)
Alan Barnard
Danny Hagan
Gavin Mardell
Tony King
Ivan Bass
and then...
Terry Moore and one other out of
Martin Worthington (If he is back from holiday) or Lee King (who Daley tells me is interested in playing again as has a job and is back living in Edmonton...and therefore easier to give a lift to matches from ?).

I will chase up the above players by text & e-mail after the Bank Holiday on Tuesday/Wednesday, although if they could post on here regarding their availability, that would make things easier.

Fine for Thursday

Here's the (very complicated) situation at the moment (mid-day Thursday)...

Ivan is available but Lexton wants to play as well and Ivan has therefore already arranged to give him a lift. Lexton told me last Sunday that he couldn't play because he would be 'working late', but apparently that was because he thought it was a 7.30.p.m. Kick-Off. (Lexton is 'not on the internet' )

We also have Lee King available but he needs a lift...from pretty much where Ivan & Lexton both live. (Lee has recently moved house). When I spoke to Lee yesterday, I didn't know that Lexton was playing, so I left a voicemail message with Terry Moore to see if he could give Lee a lift (as Ivan has only met Lee once and doesn't know him well enough).
Terry hasn't got back to me, so I don't know whether he got the message. If he has texted Lee and told him to meet somewhere, then he won't get a reply because Lee has no credit on his phone. He can't make calls or texts, so he has to be phoned and spoken to. Obviously if Lexton is playing now though, it would be easier if him & Ivan give Lee a lift...if Lexton wants to phone Lee and Terry and sort it out between them...except Lexton is not on the internet and won't see this, so I will (probably ?) have to phone them all and sort it out ?

We then have Kizza saying he is 'definitely' coming along to play tonight so that he can pay the £100.00 he owes us (incl. this season's Annual Subs) and therefore be picked for the squad this Sunday ! Thanks to numerous players not giving me their photos for their registrations (whereas Kizza has), we have to give Kizza a chance to play (and pay) tonight, even though he has let us down so many times I have lost count.
Tony King is not sure whether the ankle injury he suffered last Thursday has healed yet...he is testing it out tonight..., so Kizza will be needed as a left-back on Sunday if Tony is out.

The other player to 'sort out' is Barney. I told him he would definitely be needed, even though he is coming back early this evening (I think ?) from wherever he has been on holiday and doesn't seem to mind not playing because of the rush. However, that was before I found out Lexton and Kizza were both 'definitely' playing, so now we have a squad of 10 as follows:

If I tell Barney he is not needed though, I know what will happen...Kizza, Ivan, Lexton & Lee King will all drop out/turn up late/have a mix-up with lifts or whatever and we will be left with just 6 players (including me) to start the match...yet again !

So what do I do ? Any ideas ?

Terry says he will phone Lee and pick him up, then if 10 players are there for the kick-off he will drop out and go home (as he played a full game on Sunday whereas the others didn't play at all...apart from Lexton).

Ivan & Lexton can then give Lee a lift home.

I wouldn't mind giving this one a miss tonight Lol as I was only notified last night that Beeden is having some birthday drinks. That said, if I am needed I will still play??

Well Kizza has just dropped out, so we can't have too many others doing the same.
What is Barney doing ? Is he going for a drink with Tim as well ? I haven't heard from him yet.

I have also texted Jacko to see if Martin Worthington is about, although as he is a schoolteacher I suspect that he won't be back down here until whenever the schools go back (Monday 10th ?).
