The squad for our 7 a side match against bottom team Boca Sovereign saw regulars Simon Jackson, Terry Moore, Alan Barnard, Tem Adil, Danny Hagan, Ollie Tedder and Lee King joined by debutant Dean Assiamah and a return to the squad of Vernon ‘Kizza’ Nxumalo from working in Germany. Kizza gave us the lead after just 4 minutes with a header but we did not add to that goal until Tem Adil scored after 16 minutes despite dominating possession and wasting several chances. Danny Hagan converted a harshly awarded penalty and Dean Assiamah scored his first goal for the club before a loss of concentration in defence allowed Boca to pull one back before half time. The second half was even more one sided than the first with both Kizza and Dean completing their hat tricks, Alan Barnard and two own goals giving us a resounding 11-1 victory. Our 7 a side record, according to ‘Statto’ Laurence is 13-0 which we could easily have beaten had it not been for several bad misses. The nearest Boca came to scoring again was after Jacko deliberately threw the ball to them so that he would have a shot to save which he did.
