Trev won't be doing his report until after Thursday night's match, but here's my opinion...for what it's worth...
Mc,Kenzies are a good side. They usually go in the Thursday Night League and usually beat our 'First Team' in that. I think they will win the Monday Night League.
They are very fit and competitive and don't give our players any time on the ball, so that was the main reason we lost so 'heavily'. None of our players had played much football over the last two months or so, and especially Speller, who hadn't kicked a ball since December and was really rusty.
We only had nine because Kizza dropped out (yet again), and with Steve Cokell missing, we didn't have any forwards.
Oz had no chance with the goals, but we made some bad mistakes defensively by allowing them to score with free headers from corners, a shot from a free-kick when we didn't set up a defensive wall for some reason, and a tap-in by an unmarked player when Colin left him to go and kick away the ball from the other pitch !
Our Monday Night team have played a lot worse at 7-a-side and not lost by as many, but it was basically the same old story as our 11-a-side season...a patchwork team with two or three different types of players in it who didn't really gel.
Warmers' mate Bill Wheeler looked a very good player though, so that was one good thing to come out of last night's match.
