Management Meeting Decisions/News

Although Conor and Russell couldn't make it last night, myself, Trevor, Stuart & Mark attended the Management Committee Meeting and discussed/agreed the following (amongst other things):

- Both Russell and Mark have been unavailable lately due to work commitments. They will both be making a decision as to whether they can commit themselves to the club next season when we have our next meeting in late-April. Mark is hopeful that he will be able to though. His parents have recently moved to Braintree in Essex and he is spending a lot of time there helping them settle in, but will spend more time living with his girlfriend in Edmonton after that.
With Russell it depends on the work on offer for him with Granada TV up in Manchester.

- If we are playing at Home to I.M.L. Red Cow on Sunday 2nd April when Trevor is in Las Vegas, then Stuart will be Player-Manager and one of the substitutes MUST run the line if Mark cannot attend. (Russell will definitely not be there). Unlike the last time we played them, we should be fielding a strong side this time, so I am DEFINITELY going to video this match !

- We are going to play Away to Wormley Rovers on Easter Day (if Wormley agree themselves) as Stuart told us at the Meeting that nobody is going away that weekend as far as he knows.
As this will be our last match of the season and it is a Bank Holiday the following day, we will be going down On Broadway for a good drink-up afterwards and we want EVERYBODY there if possible !

- Regarding the Hazelwood problem, we will be making more 'investigations' into what is going on and protesting bitterly about it if it is all true. This will include press & media publicity. We are not going to give up using Hazelwood without a fight.
Obviously we will HAVE to use Enfield Playing Fields rather than fold the club up though...if it came down to that.

- Regarding Training at the Southbury Leisure Centre for the rest of this season, we will not be training at all either tonight, on Tuesday 7th March (Barcelona v. Celsea on TV), or on Tuesday 14th March (if we play Away to Europa the Sunday before...although if that game is postponed, then we WILL train).
On Tuesday 28th February, Tuesday 21st March and Tuesday 28th March, we will be playing 30-minute each way 11-a-side practice matches at training against other teams who have not had a game the Sunday before and are willing to pay us £28.00 to share the facilities. We will just use bibs and Trevor will 'referee/time-keep' from the half-way line. We will be playing teams whose players we know rather than advertising for opponents.
These will not be classed as official Friendly matches for the club records though, and there will be roll-on roll-off substitutions if we get more than eleven players turn up.
By the way, we will not be re-booking the Astroturf for April.

- Next season, we will be training on Thursday nights between 8.00.p.m. and 9.00.p.m., sharing with another team who have offered that to us. (Hopefully they have not gone and made an agreement with someone else for next season as we turned it down for the remainder of this season...as we had already paid for Tuesdays). This was a unanimous decision as it was agreed that everyone (and not just Conor !) is in 'Sofa Mode' for a 9.00.p.m. start. We felt that even if Spurs and Arsenal are both in the EUFA Cup next season (as is likely ?! ), nobody is going to want to watch them play the likes of Dnepr Dnepropotrovsk, Boby Brno or Beitar Jerusalem in the early rounds and would therefore rather go training instead !

- We will be entering two teams in the 7-a-side League again this Summer, one on Mondays and one on Thursdays. This is because 'Warmers' has a few mates (and ex-Everest players) who might want to play, as has Colin. It also appears that Murf is the only current player who will not be able to play because he lives too far away, as Paul Ellerker should be available as he is no longer living in Hitchin.
The 7-a-side League is due to start on Monday 8th May (as far as we know).

- Regarding Del's Stag Do/Club Tour to Lithuania on the 19th May, Stuart says there are now 17 going, most of whom are capable of playing football, so he will see if he can get a match arranged. Stuart will give more details here when he knows them.
Del's Wedding is on Saturday 24th June, but is only for family and close friends.

- The A.G.M. for this season will be on Saturday 10th June at Edmonton Fire Station, providing the function room is not already booked. (Mark will be making enquiries today). The England v. Paraguay match is a 2.00.p.m. kick-off rather than the 4.00.p.m. kick-off we had for an England match before the A.G.M. last year, so we will therefore start the A.G.M. at 5.00.p.m. instead of 7.00.p.m. so that everyone can come straight there from the pub.

- We will be having a 'Snooker Night' on F.A. Cup Final day (Saturday 13th May), although it will be more of a 'Snooker Afternoon/early evening' this time...with a barbecue. The intention is for everyone to be home by midnight (instead of 5.00.a.m. !) to keep the missus happy, bearing in mind the Tour to Lithuania just six days later !

- We will be having a 30th Anniversary Dinner on Friday 29th September. Trevor is currently looking at suitable venues where a late license (until 2.00.p.m.) can be obtained, while Stuart is hoping to get Neil Ruddock as the After-Dinner Speaker.

- It was agreed that Simon Jackson must pay a £15.00 Annual Sub for this season, which is in line with other players who have not played a whole season or joined late. (We don't think he realises that he hasn't paid anything yet).
Concern was also expressed at the number of players turning up late recently, and even though they had been phoning to say they would be late, it had been causing problems. Trevor will now be keeping a note of these at future matches and fines may be imposed at future meetings.

- The next Management Committee Meeting will be on Monday 24th April.

If any players are unavailable for any of the dates mentioned above, please let us know.

Re: Management Meeting Decisions/News

Happy to pay full amount, think it is £30, please confirm.

Cheers

Re: Management Meeting Decisions/News

£27.00 in total.

By the way, I have to say the payment of subs by our players is excellent. Virtually all of our current regular players are completely up to date and quite a few are even in credit.
This has helped enormously with recouping the money we lost from dropping the Reserve Team out at the start of the season.

Well done everyone.

Re: Management Meeting Decisions/News

Re the summer leagues I would play but already do so on Mondays and Thursdays!
