Squad For This Sunday (29th January)

The squad for this coming Sunday's Division One match at Home to London Ajax at Hazelwood is as follows:
Andrew Warmerdam (GK), Stuart Dorward, Paul Woolston, Terry Moore, Paul Ellerker, Juneka Junior, Nick Vertigans, Conor Mc,Govern, Steve Cokell, Foysol Ahmed, Kris Spyrou & Daniel George.

That is only 12 players, but it is all we have available at the moment !
Ritchie Copues attended training but didn't say if his ankle was alright (he disappeared when the lights went out !), Chris 'Nugget' Beeden, Robin Pryke, Tom Dell & James Walker appear to be the latest players to have lost interest in playing or coming training at the moment, Derek Dorward has now declared himself unavailable for this match (presumably either working or due to family commitments ?), Colin Bester has a twisted ankle and is highly unlikely to be fit by this Sunday, and goalkeeper Simon Jackson has now confirmed on the Forum that he will not be playing again this season as he does not want to miss out on running in the London Marathon by aggravating various injuries.

We already knew that Peter Murphy (Going away for the weekend), Gary Cokell (Working), John Mc,Loughlin (Various Injuries), Tony Speller (Still not recovered from his thigh injury) and Darryl Johnson (Injured Groin) would not be available for this match, but the others dropping out have caused us a bit of a problem.

Manager Trevor Hughes is still quite ill and off work, so there is no guarantee that he will be there...and if he is, he will not be in a fit state to run the line, while Russell Beeden is now back up in Manchester and Mark Howley has apparently moved to live in Braintree (deepest Essex). It could well mean that Laurence Hughes will be Manager/Club Linesman and the match will not be recorded on video (again), but there is not a lot we can do about that.

Please can we have nobody else dropping out this Sunday...and some volunteers from our many registered players (e.g. Scott Robertson !?) to be named as substitutes ?

There is of course a possibility that the game might get called off because of a frozen pitch (according to the current weather forecast for the weekend). All players are reminded that it is the Referee's decision when we have those sort of conditions and we all have to turn up at 10.00.a.m. even if it looks 'obvious' that the game is going to be called off. We can actually lose the points (even if the pitch is unplayable !!!) if our opponents all turn up but we have less than 8 there because some have decided to stay in bed.

Re: Squad For This Sunday (29th January)

I will be alright by the weekend, if you are short that is.

Russell has told me that Nugget is definitely not playing as he is up in Hull this weekend visiting his girlfriend.
