Squad for this Sunday (9th October)

We have named a squad of 16 for this Sunday's Division One match at Home to Wormley Rovers at Hazelwood. The squad is as follows:
Darryl Johnson (GK), Stuart Dorward, Paul Woolston, Tony Speller, Terry Moore, Gary Cokell, Daniel George, Scott Robertson, Paul Ellerker, Foysol Ahmed, Derek Dorward, Nick Vertigans (New Signing), Peter Murphy, Conor Mc,Govern, Steve Cokell & Vernon 'Kizza' Nxumalo.

We have also signed up 17-year-old midfielder James Walker and he will be coming along to this match as well, while Russell Beeden is down from Manchester this weekend and can also be named in the squad if others drop out. James, who has recently been released by Fulham, attended training last night (Tuesday) and looked a useful prospect, as did another 17-year-old Kris Spyrou, who we hope to sign up next week. We are also hoping to sign up ex-Everest defender Andrew Warmerdam next week as well, and these new players will boost our squad as we go towards Christmas (when we often have a number of players unavailable).

Unfortunately we have three players unavailable for this week's match in Robin Pryke (Working), Colin Bester (On Holiday) and Ritchie Copues (who is now out for six weeks with a hamstring injury). However, this is still the strongest squad we have fielded so far this season.

Wormley Rovers won Division Two last season and have only lost six League matches in the last three years ! They have won all four of their League & Cup matches played so far this season and have told us they will be fielding a full-strength side for this game with two or three key players returning, although there is no reason why we cannot give them a good close game with the squad we have available.

Re: Squad for this Sunday (9th October)

Foysol has just phoned to say he will be unavailable from now until the 13th November as he is currently fasting for Ramadam and that leaves him too weak to play in matches. This is also why he has not been at training the last couple of weeks.

That leaves us with a 15-man squad for this Sunday (only four subs instead of five), so I will leave it up to Trev to come on here and say whether he wants to add anyone else to replace Foysol or leave it as it is.
