Maj Gen Robert Staveley R.I.P

It was mentioned in the November issue that Robert had passed away but I never took real notice because it did not mention anything about serving with 42. I have since been informed (waiting on confirmation) that in fact he did serve with the Regiment. Does anybody Remember the name ?
One thing that did interest me was that he married the Granddaughter of Francis Maxwell who won the VC whilst helping Q Battery at sannas Post during the Boer war.

I never knew him but I'm guessing this is him in Kupferdreh.
