The Death of Common Sense, The Immortality of Crackpot Theories

Before going to bed yesterday, I read a few chapters of Andy Kaufman Revealed. For some reason the line "Zmuda, the case!" had popped into my head and so I had to revisit that world for a little while. Perhaps predictably, I woke up today with Kaufman on the brain. I decided to do a little Google searching about Andy. It was there that my troubles began...

I found Enrique's site early. It intrigued me, so I dug a little deeper. I've now read Brad's Blog, The Rocco Files, various Fastboards, Gumpo's Board, Kaufmanfakedit, and others. Hours later, it became apparent that I was several months late to this party. Suddenly the feeling crept in that I was merely chasing my own tail, as it were.

"Oh, no!" I cried, "I've wasted my Christmas in a cacophony of cockamamie Kaufman claptrap!"

Happily, this board was the last one I found. It's my personal favorite. My faith in the Kaufman community is restored again. Youze guys is all right.

I caught up on 18 months of Andy clues in as many hours, but I'm no closer to any substantial answers. I've gone from curiosity to excitement to disappointment and back. I no longer know what to think. But such is the life of a Kaufman fan, I suppose.

Bah humbug, everybody.

Aw, thanks for the cheery endorsement of our humble little board. Surprised you found it... I didn't think there were too many bread crumbs leading to it out there!

Looking for Andy, whether or not you find him, seems an enjoyable enough endeavor. There seems to always be the joy of discovery of something previously unseen. And "not knowing what to think," seems to be just what he wanted of his audience.

Happy Holidays everyone! I've been sick, so sick I couldn't post. But I still celebrated Christmas with my mom and my sister! My mom somehow decided it was a survivalist Christmas-- she gave my sister and I both hand-crank radios with flashlights and also kits to make potable water and iodine tablets!

What a coincidence. I gave my dad a batteryless flashlight! Just in case...
