Hello everyone, I wanted thank the kind people on the board for all of the interesting and fun conversations.
I hope someday we'll see Andy return, or at least a good fake-out. Even if Andy Kaufman is gone, I'd still love to see the urban legend of his faked death survive and grow.
I've come to the conclusion that there is no way to judge the validity of the hints around the net, without going out into the real world to look or taking a leap of faith. Neither is something I'm interested in.
I'm not faking my board death or anything, I just felt like saying this stuff. I guess I'll read along and comment still, but I think my midnight google search frenzies are over. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but all this stuff kind of held an important place in my thoughts over the past year or so. I feel a little foolish for investing so much of spare thought in this stuff. I can't imagine how many pages of google searches I've read. Sometimes it boggles my mind. All those websites I've combed. Not that I think it's impossible that there is any truth to any of it (hows that for an unfocused sentence!) It's just that I think I learn more and have more fun from a less intense approach, you know.
It's a free universe and all, but I'd have more fun riffing on the possibilities and crazy theories. Oh yeah, and making eachother laugh.
To that end, somebody pull my finger. And further, if there is no one there to sniff does it still make a smell?
Well, most certainly the fingerful person is there to smell it... as in, whoever dealt it, smelt it, unless he cut off his nose to spite his face. And if ye cut off yon nose, if there is no one around to pick it up for you, does your nose then not get picked?
If Andy Kaufman lives in the woods, but there is no one there to see him, does he yet live?
And then does he still put on shows for his imaginary audience?
I'm not Marcel. I Don't know him... He's the french canadian guy you met in Vegas right? There are probably thousands of Canadians in Vegas every day. Heck there have been a few just here on the boards. He coulda been just some funny french dude, right?
Do you believe there was a street theatre performance conducted for you guys? Some of the people you met on the street etc... were actors?
Honestly, the thought crossed my mind to go to Vegas and meet you guys without introducing myself. It would have been funny and nice. Then I thought, to much time and money for a little gag. Maybe someone else from the board had the same idea.
I do that to people I know sometimes. Get disguised and bump into them. I've even fooled my own mother! I have a current bet with a friend that I can fool him. The rules are that I have to have a substantial conversation with him, lasting at least a minute. But, that wasn't me in Vegas. I'm committed, but not commitable.
I'm saying that that's what Maddoxx said in his review when refering to "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" You disguising yourself as a stranger and then confronting your friend as said stranger kinda reminded me of that.
watch this mcgee. I will blow your mind. Think of a card. seriously. think of a card. write it down. don't change, don't cheat. just jaut down the card you picked. tell me when you have done this.
