Filling in the blanks using the aklives.com universe as decoder template, I would translate the thread as follows.

The story implies that Letterman hooked Andy and Bob up with Danny Maddox. Danny changed his name to muddy the trail to his father. Maddox died as Andy, and Andy became Maddox. Cross referencing with AKlives.com one might replace Letterman with a Van Dyke. Letterman seams more a likely suspect though. I don't know about Captain Conundrum at the end. Maybe he is saying those are the 3 code names or something. It reads like a riddle. The post is a later date, so maybe it's unrelated. I'm going to go post the "What?"
