I am researching family history on Samuel Wakefield, my great-great grandfather, who was a Methodist minister in the early 1800's. From a "Wakefield Memorial" book, written by Homer Wakefield, M.D., in 1897: Dr. Wakefield...constructed, with his own hands, the first pipe organ built west of the Alleghany Mountains, and which is still in use in the Wakefield Chapel, at Uniontown, Penn."
Does Wakefield Chapel still exist?
Does the pipe organ still exist?
Would appreciate any information regarding these questions. Thank you.
