My 68 year old father completed radiation therapy six months ago for prostate cancer. He previously had had a prostatectomy and had received hormone therapy while waiting for the radiation. He has been feeling great throughout all the various treatments. Suddenly in the last two weeks his entire body has been hurting...he describes it as joint or bone pain. Primarily the elbows, back, between the fingers, legs, hips. He recently developed a swollen knee too that he is getting an FNA on in a couple of weeks. He had a bone scan that has come back negative (yahoo). Other blood tests included the ANA (normal), uric acid (normal) but the C-Reactive Protein and ESR were highly elevated. Has anyone else experinenced this? Could it be due to a low testosterone and then when it recovers it causes an inflammation? He is managing the pain with ibuprofen but is still in a lot of discomfort. Thanks very much for any information. Have a good day.
I can't help you directly beyond saying that my joint aches have increased steadily over the past three years as I approach my "Best Before" date of three score years and ten.
But a man who has battled a variety of pains over the years is GORDON MCLEOD in Canada. If you read his story and think he might be able to help, drop him a line.
Aloha Terry,
I also in a few days will be 3 score & 10. Happy Birthday to US and all the rest of you Blokes, & support family/persons that can celebrate this uncertain life we live. And yes the foot pain from nerve damage has reached a level that I remember you describing several years ago. There are a few other pains that I am reminded of when you make the wrong moves.
Joe
