I bumped into someone that may be remembered by some of the kids over the week-end.

He is PC John 'Budgie' Gilbert who was one of the local constabulary all those years ago.

I was telling him about the site and he was really interested and said he had very fond memories of the area and the Crown Flats in particular.

He was wondering, given he was one of the 'establishment' if he would be made welcome if he turned up at the 'reunion'.

Perhaps some of the kids would like to let me know and I will arrange to pass their comments on to him.
