Obviously, the main talking point after Sunday's match was 'who's goal was that ?' for our first one !
Well, having now seen it on video, it was definitely Stuart's goal as he deliberately headed it in from about a yard and it didn't just 'hit him'. In fact it even looked as if Wooly's header was going wide, although I would have been able to say for definite if I had been filming from my normal vantage point on the other side of the pitch. (Blame the rain).
We were unlucky for their first goal as there was a definite foul on Junior in the build up and he was still picking himself up off the floor when their No.7 shot into the bottom corner. It was a good finish, but Junior would have been in that position to close him down if it wasn't for that.
I don't think their second goal (the lob over Speller) was offside. It's difficult to see from my angle, but I think he may have been level. Obviously I can't see whether Ritchie was concentrating or not !
Great winning goal from Nick Vertigans. Not surprisingly, this is now showing on Clip Of The Week.
I have also found another classic funny picture to go with the Match Report.
All in all, we played well and it was a good performance. However, I thought The Wheatsheaf were a good side as well and much better than when we played them earlier in the season. They were probably better WITHOUT Dedman as I don't think those conditions would have suited him. I can't see them finishing bottom if they play like that, so we have still got some work to do in our remaining four matches.
Although they had nearly twice as many shots as us, we both had 12 clear-cut chances each and a draw would have been a fair result.
The luck is going our way at the moment and long may it continue.
...I was right behind Wooly's header in terms of angle and it was going in....and I was not far behind the play when their fella was played in for the 2nd and I think he was onside...
