Checking the 1901 census I found one of my ancestors was a Doffer and the other a Rover I googled and found Doffer but not Rover does anyone know?

Re: Doffers and Rovers

Gordon
Roving was the preparing of flax for spinning, the flax was combed and drawn out. I remember a department in Hilden mill called the Roving room.
