Lisburn Exiles Forum

(Site is no longer operational pending a major long overdue overhaul of the entire website. Thank you for your patience. Site should still be visible and searchable for old posts.)

The Lisburn Exiles Forum is dedicated to the memory of James Goddard Collins (The Boss) who single-handedly built LISBURN.COM (with a lot of help from many contributors) from 1996 to 29th November 2012. This website was his passion and helping people with a common interest in the City of Lisburn around the world is his lasting legacy.

Fasching

Today ( 11th November ) is the feast of St.Martin and here in the Vaterland begins at 11,11am the Fasching (Carnival ) season

http://german.about.com/od/culture/tp/Fasching-In-Germany.htm

There will be dancing and celebrating from now until Ash Wednesday when Lent begins. I´m getting too old for such nonsense now but in previous years it was an enjoyable time of the year. On Rosenmontag and Faschingdienstag it reaches it´s peak and most firms give their employees holidays

Re: Fasching

Donald,

We are in different countries now & on different wavelengths too, as November is our month for remembering our beloved dead, especially today "Remembrance Day, 11th November.

"Keep the sweet memories stored in the mind, cherished with gratitude,
Treasured with Love."
