Holidays

Start of our long w/end. Went to see a wedding today. A school friend of my grand daughter, I remember the bride as a gangly young girl, today she was a Grace Kelly look alike, a lovely bride, dressd in a golden cream gown with diamonte on the bodice & train, her hair in a upswept style, really regal. She married a young farmer, his mates were all fit & healthy, dressed in the usual black suits & white shirts, strong men, full of life & laughter. I felt like an old woman looking at new beginning yet privileged to be there. Remembering my own young days & my own wedding , young & laughing at life . I thank God I have still the grandchildren to keep us going, once they r married & gone, where will we be.??? As Dibbler's father once said " Gone but not for cotton" A joke he told in Lavery's. My grandson is here for the w/end, the dog is in his room on a cushion on the floor, deserted us, so what does that tell u??? Joe is fast asleep, I will join him soon, we had a few white wines in the porch, listening to light classical music, remembering old times, old friends, a lovely evening, so wishing u all a goodnight, my new frien ds, * God bless, Pat

Re: Holidays

Pat, what it tells you is that the dog does not approve of alcohol. Mine don't approve of smoke.

You remember Ann Frazer, don't you? She told me once that when she was going with Eddie, she entered a competition in the Orange Hall, Lisburn It was Miss Beautiful Hair and Ann won first prize. She received a ten bob note and she said they had a great day on that 10 bob.

Took the train to Belfast. Went to the circle in the Ritz. Came out and had fish and chips and soft drinks and then got the train home again. Imagine that's 50p in our money now, you wouldn't get a bar of chocolate for that.

Ann had lovely hair. I always thought she looked like Dorothy Lamour. Still has nice hair. She and Eddie love the dancing too, although I haven't seen Ann for a good while now. Must ring her and Eddie as Beano was asking for Eddie.

When hubby recuperates I can't wait to get back to our class again. Keeps you fit and good for socialising. Nice music too.

Re: Re: Holidays

Ann,

Where do your 2 wee dogs sleep??????? Pat

Re: Re: Re: Holidays

My daughter trained them while we were in England. No more bedrooms for them. They now sleep in their wee dog beds.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Holidays

Ann,
As does mine but he is getting old now & likes company, (like us all) especially young company.
