Re: SBRT

This sounds great and in a perfect world would certainly be so! However, most often diagnosis is not able to pinpoint and guarantee that the "pinpointed" tumor is the ONLY cancer present. Other than that problem, this sounds like it would be a wonderful solution. Jon.

Re: SBRT

Thanks Jon. Great observation. So they're using MRI with and without contrast to focus in on the tumor with some margin. You're right, in that the tumor needs to conform to pretty narrow specifics, this treatment won't be applicable for everyone. I have decided to go through and have an MRI to see if I would be a candidate. They can always use this data for Proton Therapy if not.

Re: SBRT

In my understanding, SBRT is a general term for accurately targeting radiation therapy that has been in use for at least 8 or more years now and there exist a number of different commercial systems that utilize it (like for example Cyberknife). Could you be more specific and let us (or me personally in an email) know specifically which system and hospital, clinic, or Doctor you are referring to?
