Remember !
Now...all these messages deal with little kid stuff and I am not sure,what it all means,in terms of people receiving from God...something they need. But...perhaps it is the easiest way to receive truth. In simple form and in simple story form.Sometimes deep truths can be shared in a story form and it goes home real fast. Sometimes...our long sermons and newest book and long lectures do not cut it.There is something about simplicity and so I share stories about my little kids. Of course,you all know,my children have all grown up. But,I still have little kids around.So,I got stories. And here comes one more : REMEMBER: When we were at at Family Camp,my Grandson decided he loves Pastor Randy.He is a lover,at heart.He either loves you or he won't.He is very emotional and impulsive person.Very feeling oriented.So,in his little mind,Pastor Randy symbolises something and he took him for a friend.In his own way,he had to tell Pastor Randy this decision has been made and he had to declare his love to him.He feels safe with him and since Pastor Randy stands for God...the little boy probably associates Christian Message and God's Love in some form or other with Pastor Randy.That certainly puts the man in the spot ! Talk about pressure to live up to this little boy's idealism and expectations.Whatever they might be,right now. Either way,he told me one day : " We got to go shopping " I asked him " Shopping ? For what ?" He says: " For Pastor Randy.We are actually friends, now.So,I will have to buy him wormy candies.He probably likes same candy as I do " So,we went shopping to the Camp store.He had his 50 pennies per day to spend.We got wormy candies.Because little boys like real live worms and wormy candies,as well. All being said and done,he knocked on his door and offered the candies.Pastor Randy graciously accepted the offer.The little boy was happy ! He had done his deed. Other day,he went knocking on Pastor Randy's door and when he left,he lectured our girl:" Remember,next time you see Pastor Randy...Remember to HUG him and tell him you LOVE him " The Pastor's wife thought,I had taught him to do it and say something like that.But in fact,I have never told him to hug anyone or say those words to anyone. That was his own idea.He had made up his mind ...that is how you deal with this Pastor and told the girl to do the same.Which she did ! But,I thought about it...Do we REMEMBER to tell people we love them ? Do we HUG them,when we meet them ? Do we let them know,we appreciate them ? Is that not like God to tell us to do those things ? Is that not like how we are supposed to act in the Kingdom of God ? To love others ? To tell them by words and deeds of our love ? To give them Hugs and maybe wormy candies ? If we do those things...it increases our JOY ! That is for sure.As we give out of our hearts,what God has given us...it brings JOY to us,also ! Give and it shall be given you. Pressed down and running over. Do you need Love ? Then ask God,who can you be a blessing to,today ? That is how you start ! That is how you find how good life can be !
