House Rules
Now,we have lots of stories about my Grandson,but what can I say ? I think,God wants to use his words to speak to many hearts,so somehow these little things are important. In any case,he told us,he has HOUSE RULES ! I had never heard about that.He is very strong willed and high- strung little guy.He gets very easily excited and he can be a bit of a handful on certain days. But,now he tells me,he has HOUSE RULES ! This better be good ! So,I ask him :" What kind of rules ?" He said,"The rule is...go to grandma's house. It is more fun there and she might give you cake ! Then I go and sleep in my house and come back next day ! That is my house-rule ! " That pretty well,sums up his entire life.He is here every day ! And I do give him treats ! He has such a sweet tooth.He loves cakes.Sometimes,we bake a cake together and that is his favorite and I buy him Ice-cream often for deserts. But,I thought about it...God also has HOUSE RULES. Like a house has a fence,so God has rules,that fence us in and if we obey His Rules,our lives remain safe and healthy and normal.The boundaries God has set for us,are in His Word. God's Word sets boundaries for our behavior,and for our emotions.He has set boundaries even for love and forgiveness and how to respond to others,if we are hurt by them.Those boundaries guarantee our well being in a long run. Many people live in torment and misery,because they have stepped out of God's Boundaries and sometimes, we need to return into our God Given Boundaries. And there we find Blessings. The way to Father's House is not far ! Just one prayer away !
