You are going to hate my answer but you asked for "thoughts"!
As a mom, to a baby who will need childcare in the next year, I am quite appalled at how you have handled this whole situation. Food should never be used for punishment. And to do it in front of the other children, shameful.
You mentioned that you "already know you are a good provider" and you don't need that parent to tell you that. Well you may want to take a good look in the mirror and re-evaluate that. And to disrespect that parent (your employer) on this site with "blah blah blah", shame on you. Have some respect and dignity for yourself. There are hundreds of parents and providers on here daily reading these forums. I am hopeful that when I am out looking for childcare that I never meet with you! I would be scared to leave my child in your "good provider" hands.
