It sounds like you are in a tough situation. I would tell the parents that since the child is not ready for potty training, you will wait for a few weeks and try again. I have had a Dad tell me I feed the child way too much and she doesn't eat any dinner. The Mom of the same child told me to give the child a bigger snack because she is so hungry when she gets home, she eats a whole box of crackers. LOL! I fed the child a snack and she ate it. I asked if she wanted more and she said no. What else could I doÉ Parents will say some ridiculous stuff and some of it really stings. I had a parent accuse me of not giving their child anything to drink all day. In this business you have to grow a thick skin. I would make it clear to the parents that you feed the child as much healthy food as she wants and you simply are not starving her. Lay down what your policies are and if the parents don`t like your rules, they can find someone who is a better fit.
Maybe you could also send home some articles from the internet or parenting magazines on potty training. Good luck.
Good luck. |
