Hi everyone, Ok here is the situation: I provide a very good & nourishing Breakfast & Lunch for the children I look after. I provide a snack at around 3:30-4:00pm that consist of a varity of fruit & if the children have been good for the day, they understand that they will get a couple of Arrowroot cookies as well. If they misbehave or do not follow my daycare rules, they understand that the cookies will not be at their place setting come snack time!
This has been a great incentive for good behavour, the extra cookies. I feel that by giving my daycare children fruit & a couple of cookies, this will not disrupt their Dinner time meal & it is after all a snack. I have one child that is potting training at home & refuses to tell me when they have to go at my house, so they are still having to wear a diaper at my daycare. So, because this child is not doing what the parents want them to do at my daycare, they do not get the extra snack, that being the cookies. All the other children understand this & feel this is fare if I was to give this child the extra snack, as they understand this is given for following the daycare rules....but the parents have a real problem with this issue, they are now saying that there child is staving when they get home....it is only 2 Arrowroot cookies????.
Your thoughts would be appreciated :-| |
