Subject:   How to tell a parent?????

Message:   Has anyone had to let a child go? How did you do it?
I have had this child in my care for over a year and is very difficult. Cries most of the times or has major temper tantrums, now has started hitting and has bit me. I have noticed that the other children (including my own) play & act much better when this child is not around. This child does have some delays and frankly as much as I thought I could help her and get through this I have come to realise that I can't. The parents are in denial in regards to most of the delays.
Some parents have already complained that their kids are taking home some of this childs behaviour and have expressed that they are not too happy.

As much as it breaks my heart I have to let this child go. But how do I do that? Is it acceptable or cowardly to write a letter. What are some of the do's and don'ts about what to say?
I feel terrible, I feel like such a terrible care giver, I feel like I am failing this child, failing myslef. But I have to be honest with myself and I can't continue with this child. I have to tell the parents but how?
Anyone have any suggestions????
