Wow. The kid is 3.5 years old for crying out loud...maybe he/she does not require nap anymore. It sounds to me you've tried everything already. Have you tried maybe gently rubbing her back a bit - even that is a bit of work - especially if you will be looking after more kids. Just do the best you can - it's sad that the parents are threatening you. Do you really want to deal with parents like these? You will get other calls for daycare I'm sure, and that too from parents that won't want you to force their child to sleep at this age. I usually let them have quite time if they don't sleep. Avoid giving anything sweet before nap time maybe and cut back on excitement half hour before naptime. Not sure what to tell you. Good luck. Keep us posted. |
