I need some guidance please.

I have been researching this for over a year now (slowly) and I am certain this is something I want to do. I want to create a rune binding that means love for and from life, friends, and family. I want to get this tattoo'd on the very hard to reach spot of my back (between shoulder blades) to symbolize that love for and from life, friends and family is always present even though its hard to reach and I cannot see it. Make sense? Its a tattoo so I also want it to look good but it serves no purpose if the meaning is not accurate. Again any help would be so much appreciated!

Re: I need some guidance please.

Hi Travis
I'm new to this site by the way, I must go introduce meself!
I was just looking and noticed your post and I just wanted to let you know I was thinking along the same lines last year.
I made my first bindrune, having just (like yourself!)..been slowly..getting familiar with the runes.

I was looking into one for love, long lasting, joy and a fullfilling partership with my new found partner. It was to give to him. I researched and found a few combinations and would sketch them out..but..always the same combination kept coming back to me. I eventually decided, after time and again of the runes 'speaking' to me that, they were the ones.

The runes choosing me were Wunjo, of joy and lasting happiness and Gifu indicating the partership, love and commitment. It just seemed like these 2 runes naturally called me, as I am sure yours will. I found meditating, looking at the runes and seeing which 'jumped' out and sketching out a few combinations helped. You may find ones calling to you. (hope I make sense!!!).
I was interested also to find when put the runes together I found Kenaz appear there too as well as lagaz.
I carved them out on a circle of beech, blessed them and gave to him when we met up. He loved it and we ended up calling it the Wufo rune!

Anyway Travis, not sure what I am saying! I do love to waffle and ramble. Basically, I think you will instinctively know when the 'right' runes come to you.
Blessings

Re: I need some guidance please.

Thanks so much for your response... Its so hard to find people that know much about this. I have a few runes that I continue to play with and I just want to find something that is pleasing to the eye. If its on my back forever I want it to look good! I am just going to keep trying different things. I really dont want to abondon the runes and find something else. I really like the runes. One of the bindings I keep making is very similar to the one on the runmaker group banner at the top of this page...

Re: I need some guidance please.

Hi Travis :)
Gosh I just noticed how very similar that binding is to the one I made! Take away the diagonal line at the top left hand sign and you have just how I arranged wunjo and gefu..
And yes the binding looks wonderful for the meaning you wish to have and would also look good I think as a tattoo. I personally have thought about getting the one I did tattooed - I have a few but swore me last was me last a couple of years ago!:)
Good luck with it Travis

Re: I need some guidance please.

Nice :) Its makes me feel better to know that the Rune binding I came up with is similar to yours and others... I must be on the right track! I think i am going to stick to my instinct and go with the first design I did.

Re: I need some guidance please.

Just and update... I am going to combine the three runes that I originally came up with to create my binding. They are:

oþila, gebo, and wunjo. I'm not exactly sure how I am going to have the tattoo done i am still thinking about that. I dont want to do anything fancy just a simple design. Maybe in a dark brown instead of black. I dunno.
