Is this a Rune?
Hello, I'm seeking help from a rune translator, or somebody who is at least familiar with the art. This is in regards to a symbol on the spine of a book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The book has not yet been released. In the fandom, there is speculation going on about the cover art, including the symbol on the top of the spine: an equilateral triangle with a circle inside and a line running down the middle. To see what it looks like, here is the cover art of the book: http://www.bloomsbury.com/media/hp7childrens_high_complete.jpg Many fans believe that it could be more than just a design for the book cover. In the series itself, there is a fictional class called "Ancient Runes". It does not have much importance to the plots as of yet, but it is curious that a symbol like that is on the spine. I wanted a few opinions from others who are familiar with runes so that is why I came to this site. If anyone knows what the symbol could possibly mean, please tell me, it would be great help. Otherwise, if it's not a rune at all, then I'm very sorry for wasting your time, I know absolutely nothing about runes! |

I'm afraid you will have to keep on speculating - it's not a rune. There are no curves and no horizontal lines with the runes, only straight lines in the vertical or at an angle. |

I found this rune: it's as if wunjo and gebo had been put together. It's the best i can say, sorry! I would like to know if this is possible, and what is the meaning of the rune, if it exists. |

You will have to post a picture or drawing. There are dozens of ways Gebo and Wunjo could be combined, and there are any number of bindrunes that could end up looking like your description. Have you tried looking on the practical bindrunes page of www.runemaker.com? You might see something there. For example, look at RM5010. |
